Our Work

Samita Mishra Memorial Foundation for Cancer Research since its inception in 2013 has been running four major campaigns, of which Cancer Bhagao and Pink Wo-Mania are annual features. Through these campaigns the aim is to engage communities as catalysts of cancer awareness and early detection.

Cancer Bhagao is a movement that has emerged as a beacon of hope for people in India who are impacted by cancer. This initiative is driven by a vision to create a cancer-free India, where no one dies due to lack of awareness or failure of timely detection. The movement's primary objective is to spread awareness about cancer among the common people and physicians by organizing health-check up camps to facilitate early detection and intervention. These camps provide an opportunity for people to get screened for cancer and receive medical consultation from experienced professionals.

In addition to the health-check up camps, Cancer Bhagao also organizes awareness seminars to educate doctors and masses about the different types of cancer, their symptoms, causes, and treatment options. These seminars have been instrumental in creating a culture of awareness and early intervention in the fight against cancer.

The Cancer Bhagao movement is a testament to the power of collective action in the fight against cancer. Through their tireless efforts, they have empowered people to take charge of their health and seek early intervention when needed. By spreading awareness and knowledge about cancer, Cancer Bhagao is transforming the landscape of cancer care in India, and inspiring others to join the fight for a cancer-free future.

Pink Wo-Mania

Pink Wo-Mania is a breast cancer awareness movement that is making waves in the healthcare sector by breaking cultural taboos that prevent women from accessing healthcare due to cultural norms. The movement aims to educate women about breast cancer, encouraging learning of self-examination and treatment seeking behavior in case of any probable signs and symptoms. By increasing awareness about the disease and breaking the stigma surrounding it, Pink Wo-Mania is empowering women to take charge of their health.

The movement also aims to increase access for women to diagnostic services by bringing mammography vans and doctors in partnership with hospitals like Artemis, Max, and Medanta. This partnership has been instrumental in bringing healthcare services closer to women, especially those in remote and under-served areas. With these efforts, Pink Wo-Mania has helped many women get early diagnoses and treatments, improving their chances of survival.

Pink Wo-Mania is an incredible initiative that is bringing change to the healthcare sector. By educating women about breast cancer and providing access to diagnostic services, the movement is improving the quality of life for countless women. It is our hope that this movement continues to grow and make a positive impact in the lives of women throughout the country.
