Pink Wo-Mania
Pink Womania is a campaign by the Samita Mishra Memorial Foundation for Cancer Research, dedicated to empowering women through awareness, early detection, and accessible care. The campaign works to build informed communities by conducting outreach programmes, organising screening camps, and offering counselling and support to women and their families. By fostering dialogue and understanding around women’s cancers, Pink Womania aims to encourage timely health-seeking behaviour and ensure that no woman faces cancer without information, care, or support.
Held in October to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this dialogue—organised under the Pink Womania campaign by the Samita Mishra Memorial Foundation for Cancer Research—brought together doctors, experts, and community voices. The discussion explored how information gaps, financial barriers, and gender norms shape women’s access to timely care, often leading to delayed or alternative treatments. It underscored the need for health systems that are inclusive, affordable, and sensitive to women’s lived realities. The conversation also reflected on how awareness must be matched by access to make care truly equitable. Together, the event reaffirmed Pink Womania’s commitment to advancing women’s health with empathy and understanding.
